Deliciously crispy potato pancakes that are easy to make and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes using a box grater or food processor.
  2. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and wring out as much moisture as possible.
  3. Grate the onion and combine it with the potatoes in a large bowl.
  4. Add eggs, flour, salt, and pepper to the bowl and mix until well combined.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Scoop about 1/4 cup of the mixture into the skillet, flatten into pancakes.
  7. Fry each pancake for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  8. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. Repeat with remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
  10. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like applesauce or sour cream.
