- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and beat until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing until just incorporated.
- Fold in chopped dates and walnuts if using.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheet, spacing cookies apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
- Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Serve warm or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider toasting the walnuts before adding them to the dough.
- Make sure the butter is softened for better mixing.
