Description

This delicious caramel apple dump cake combines the flavors of apple pie with the sweetness of caramel for a delightful dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 (20 ounce) cans of apple pie filling
  • 1 (11 ounce) bag of caramel bits
  • 1 (15 ounce) box of yellow cake mix
  • ¾ cup salted butter, cut into thin pats
  • to taste caramel sauce for drizzling on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Lightly spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Spread an even layer of the apple pie filling in the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Sprinkle the caramel bits over the pie filling.
  5. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top and spread it into an even layer with the back of a spoon.
  6. Place the butter pats evenly over the dry cake mix, ensuring no large patches of cake mix are showing.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Allow the cake to rest for 10 minutes before serving with ice cream or whipped cream.
